Mandroch Kalan to Kala Pani

A climb from the Kakul valley village of Mandroch Kalan through a local pass and the Patti forest to Kala Pani on the Thandiani road. Patti Forest lies on the Mera Rehmat Khan-Thandiani side and was named as a stop in the planned second phase of the Abbottabad chairlift.¹³⁴

Geologists describe an alluvial bay stretching from Mirpur through Kakol to Mandrochh Kalan, with steep faulted ridges near Kakul.⁶

Mandroch Kalan is one of the villages of Kakol Union Council, next to Kakul north-east of Abbottabad city.¹²

Kala Pani is on the Abbottabad-Thandiani Road, 12 km from Abbottabad per Wikipedia (15 km per FlyPakistan), for pick-up at the end.³⁵
